Enjoying simplicity in nature

Twenty kilometres east of Windhoek, Moonraker Farm is an enchanting down-to-earth adventure camp set in the African bush. Conveniently situated between the Hosea Kutako international airport and the Windhoek city centre, Moonraker provides a peaceful and charming getaway at the foot of the scenic Auas Mountain Range. Here, 2000 hectares on the Finkenstein Farm have been set aside as a private nature reserve to showcase the superb setting and the natural abundance of the area. Two families, the Goldbecks and the Finkes, pooled resources and combined dreams in 2018 to create a place where humans, animals and nature exist in a harmonious synergy.

A highlight of the stay is the small farmyard, where you can meet a colourful contingent of domestic animals in an idyllic farm setting. The farm maintains an environmentally-conscious ethos and promotes the concept of living in harmony with nature.

The family-owned camp has been created with love. Each of the twelve wooden cabins, built among the buffalo thorn or ‘wag-‘n-bietjie’ (wait-a-bit) trees, has been decorated individually with items from yesteryear, carefully collected over the years.

The farm is the perfect place to curl up with a book on the veranda, meet the animals in the farmyard, hike into the mountains, watch the African sunset at the end of the day and listen to the story of Moonraker around the campfire at night as the stars twinkle above.
